I think its the second one, only diff between them is there's an extra outlet for a pipe that'll be down the front of the block {i think}

Anyone any ideas??

Oh and a pb mk2 8v Gti has the same pipe if i remember correct!?

the one with the extra T piece is the G60 one. but i looked it up on ETKA and that T piece is blanked with a cap wonder what its for if it doesnt do nething on a G60

Found it the 16v use a different pipe after the thermostat and uses that outlet to go to the oil cooler.

While the 8v have a pipe from the thermostat which has two outlets one goes to the oil cooler.

So u could use either paudie if this is for the 8v. But u will have to blank the T piece

The one without the extra T-piece is the G60 one.

That extra T-piece is where one of the oil cooler pipes connects on an 8v or 16v GTI. The 8v/16v has one pipe coming from the water pump housing to the metal pipe in the picture then another small pipe from the extra T on the metal pipe to the oil cooler.

The G60 uses a single coolant hose which has a T made into it so doesn't need the extra fitting on the metal pipe.
