Is it Ilegal to have fog lights on when there is no fog?

It does my head in when people leave fog lights on whenever you hear people talking about this you always hear and dont leave them on when not in fog!

But is it ilegal when they are left on? im sure not but it is god darn ANNOYIN!!!

I know in the fatherland they dont take kindly to fog lights bein left on when theres no fog!!!

Wrecks my head. and my eyes

Cant say I agree with you on this. Most fog/spot lights on cars/vans are really only for show cause to be honest they dont create much more light anyway. If some are blinding you its probably the light thats out of focus. Not sure if its illegal or not to have them on?

Ah thats why it wrecks my head people are like ahh this is cool mannnnnnnnn

But if your on a country road with no street lights the new cars lights are already fairly string but then your eyes have to adjust to fog lights too!!

Ah lads!

Turn em off!!!

Big bug bear of mine i have to say, almost as annoying as people who leave their rear foglights on when it is foggy out but you are clearly driving behind them and can't miss their car! or its foggy out yers but now we are in a town with big yellow street lamps and i can see you plan as day.

I also happen to think that fog/spot lights dont look in anyway cool on 99% of cars.

Front ones on don't really make a difference i think, rear ones are a pain in the arse.

As for the fatherland yes they hate it but i can tell ya there are more twats driving in ireland with hardly any lights working. My girlfriend comes from germany she can't believe what she see's here.

Maybe an eye test if the fogs are making that much of a difference, I have to say that these Hid's are quite bright.

Just to add to the thread another couple of things do my head in

Unfocused or badly fitted HID kits are annoying, one eyed bandits are eqaully annoying.I dont recall ever seeing any one eyed bandits while driving across europe.

You are right, the germans wouldn't stand for it, the other thing is that the german people understand that one headlight out or rear bulbs out is:

DANGEROUS, and they care about that, Irish just couldn't careless.

Do you see the goverment placing adds like the speeding ones on tv showing people the dangers of a badly prepared car, NOOOOOO

Its young fellas speeding that kill everyone, Not biddy with no lights on coming around the carlow roundabout the wrong way (TRUE SEEN IT)

Young people are all boy racers when ye add a couple of things to there cars.

TALK ABOUT NARROW MINDED GOVERMENT - SORRY MEANT DICTATORSHIP

I agree with you on the fronts and rears. I have no problem with fronts being on (once they are focused correctly).

Rear fog lights should only be on in fog.....no Q's about it! In Dublin city, I would be very very reluctant to put
the rear one on even in fog as the roads are well lit up.

There are so many people going around with only one light or two badly focused headlights, these do my head in more!

True, ever see the squad cars sitting in the dealership waiting to be fixed. I would say they don't put them in for bulbs because the main stealers rob them.

In the uk the main police stations have there own mechanics and petrol pumps.

How much money is going down the pan from using the main stealers.

We need some riots to sort out this country, because no one listens to the public - Us LOL

Vagdrivers.net to take over the Pd's

Fuel prices down

Nice I Like

And ban the french cars

Yes and all 4x4 jeeps must complete a compulsory test twice a year which will involve an off road course and getting mucky and actually towing something more than twice its weight.

Yeah i lived in Germany for about 3 years and met the missus over there and she always says to me thast ilegal thats and i have to tell that she keeps thinkin of Germany, although i thought it wasnt allowed here, wasnt sure if it was ilegal though.

And yeah those Hids as you say they got on my teets also,

My guff is mainly when your on country roads and your eyes have to adjust to light when nobody,s comin towards you then all of a sudden you see 4 lights and some dodgy ones!

Also i have to say since ive lived in Waterford i cant believe how poor drivers are! mostly FEMALES!!!

Never use indicators or use them wrong!!!!!

Its all down to celtic tiger must have latest year, keep up with the neighbours greed when you think about it really!

Cars were being advertised has having spotlights and alloy wheels as standard, with things like traction control, multiple airbags etc sidelined and not a thought spared.... A person could tell you all the aesthetic things their new car had but couldn't tell you about the amount of airbags, side impact bars or traction control.

"you must call over and check out me brand new 08 kia/dawoo stupid-name-plastic-car its got front spots,17" alloys and fanny magnet as standard, and i don't have to pay a bean until 2009,sure didn't i get the money for it when i re mortgaged the house last year to build that conservatory and bring the family to disney-land!

nobody on here will agree i this. believe me i know!!! some people think its looks good some think its safer to drive with them on some think its annoying and it dosent bother some people. it is illigal but so is speeding ,driving while using a hand held phone, not wearing a seat belt, not using indicators but how many of us have done these things!!! if anyone on here can honestly say they have never broke a speed limit in there life (not being lucky and never have been stoped) but never went over the limit ill eat my hat!!

Especially at roundabouts and when im waitin to get out onto the road from a shop always at lidl women come off the roundabout and leave the indicator on as if they want to pull into the shop that im leavin!!! accidents waiting to happen

Rear fogs on when they're not supposed to be drives the fookin head off me. Front fogs turned on if they are from the factory and focused properly doesnt bother me. But the bellends who chop up they're front bumper to fit in €30 worth of halfords finest shite spot lamps should be put down. If it's not O.E then dont bother at all , IT WILL AND DOES LOOK LIKE SHITE , end of
