Easiest way to tell a gt2 from turbo is the gap between bonnet & bumber(black thing)

Any more info on gt2 for sale, year, colour, price?-Dream car

Hi,
Yeah, I have a 1975 Porsche 911 2.7 Coupe

Some pics HERE

Its a 1975 2.7 Coupe
Rebuilt in 1995 with some mods
* Full engine rebuild, with new cams & valves, Nikasil lined cylinders, MFI conversion.
* hydraulic tensioners kit fitted to camchains,
* fuel pump upgrade & overhaul,
* front mounted 1984 spec.copper pipe oil cooler.
* high flow oil pump,
* gearbox oil cooler
* with total nuts and bolts restoration/respray/seal done with photo
evidence & file of receipts for work.
* A 915 5-speed short shift gearbox
* RS Bilstein sports shock absorbers all round & lowered suspension.
* front suspension cross member in alumininum not pressed steel.
* Uprated 3.2 carrera brakes all round
* Carrera front and rear spoiler
* 930 turbo front steering arms
* Full stainless steel heat exchangers
* Stainless brake hoses and pipes
* Brake servo
* Full 930 turbo burgundy sports leather recaro type seats (heated and electrically adjustable.)
* Full 930 turbo burgundy leather matching interior and burgundy carpets/overmats. Cream roof lining.
* Thatcham CAT 1 alarm & immobiliser.

* V. clean front luggage compartment complete with original tool bag &
tools with unused space saving tyre.
*

Not everyone's cup of tea, as its far from original, but I like it

Currently needs some TLC, as it runs very rich when cold, could do with tidying up the wiring in the engine bay, and I have to trace a rear sidelight problem - seems like a broken cable, somewhere.

Sounds well cool, although it will piss off the purists. Post a pic ?.

lovely clean motor
QUOTE (WRC @ Dec 28 2005, 10:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Found a thread on this car, sounds like a dodgey one

The previous owner complains of excessive torque steer on this car, I thought this was the sole preserve of FWD cars? not having driven very powerful RWD cars myself, is this possible?

Lovely car Dealgan how did you manage to get a ZV plate?

Since we're talking porsche, i'll post a pic of the only one I've owned. It was a 1969 911T and I bought it part restored, the body work was mostly done but the rest of it was in boxes
I finshed it off and used it for about a year then i sold it to -

Wait for it.... my claim to fame.....

Jay Kay

This was before Jamiroquai became famous it was 93 or 94 I think and he wanted a cool car for the band to use, i'd never heard of him at the time, it was about 18 months later when a mate saw the car on an MTV documentry featuring the band that I put 2 and 2 together.

If only i'd known I'd have held out for twice the price

I love it, but when you talk about classic Porsche, a lot of people say it should be "original".

i.e.
It should have the original body style, i.e. no front/rear spoilers, etc etc.
The interior is from a different model altogether. (a 930)
The beakes & gearbox are from adifferent model
... etc etc etc
Also, because the engine number is for a 2.7 with the K-Jet injection I shouldn't have the Mechanical Injection, or the different cams, or the different cylinders .. etc etc

A load of hoo-hah if you ask me, but i guess its a "classic car" thing.

ZV Reg -
Because its 1975, its over 30 years, so you have achoice of either a 75-DL-xxxx or a ZV xxxxx reg.

Cheers,
Declan
