So I'm looking for a car and of course I give Donedeal a try. Seems sellers add to the search words other car brands and it's tough to sort the car you're looking for out from all the other marques that come back when you search. Tried to look for a few Seat models..........my first page of search results had ONE Seat on it and ALL the other listing were other types of cars.

anybody else notice this????

ADDENDUM: I've searched many models and get similar non-requested cars in the results - can't type in Seat without a model name too.....or just the Model name (example: Leon)....

Donedeal should consider setting up a filter system for cars like carzone, buy'n'sell autotrader etc. because there is definitely more car adds than anything else on that site & it is making them the most money.

That or only show search results generated from add titles instead of whole bodies.

Good idea! They have the 'Keyword Generator' set up wrong or the could add a filter system or even search methods.
It would make the feel of the site more professional.

Type in 'Oil Burner' and click search........

It may be annoying and I hate it

BUT

When I was selling my car Passat I got far more calls/interest when I did it.

As mentioned above a filter like Carzone's would do the trick.

The reason I don't think they'll do anything about it is because when you put up a car it gets pushed down the list of say Passats so fast you reckon no one will see it and feel obliged to fork out the €3 to bump. In fixing it your car will stay on the first page for longer and thus less €3s for donedeal.

But it is constantly crashes on me, and if you are selling your add dissappears so quickly when you advertise, plus the search and filters are not as good as carzone.

lots of traders selling cars there and not advertised as traders, half of them are fucking gangsters.

I went to look at one car off it recently, this was part of the ad;

**** 2 Years Nct ****

Just Done 3 Weeks Ago

Taxed For 3 Months !!!

Only 90k Genuine Miles

Fully Serviced ( spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, castrol oil etc )

Timing Belt, Water Pump Done (incl tensioners)

Both Cv Joints Replaced

New Tyres

Bushing Replaced

Power Steering

Remote Central Locking

Fully Colour Coded

Electric Windows

Driver Armrest,

Just Valeted And Waxed !!!

When I got there and checked the car over I found, it only had a years nct left, no tax, needed two tyres, air filter was manky, no oil at all registering on the dipstick, droplinks hanging off it, needed a cv gaitor, other side hadnt been touched, t-belt was due in less than 20k and no central locking working.

Talk about buyer beware, ad coming up as sold now, I pity the poor sod who bought it, some fucking chancers out there, no oil whatsoever in the engine, what a muppet!

I dont find any problems with donedeal never have stuff that im not looking for put in my search. It is to be expected that a few cars that might not be exactly what your looking for are put in,manly because of people putting higher speck things like seats and splitters on lower speck cars. Its dealing with so many cars the bad shit is definately going to be in there

This really is turning in to a disaster as done deal is a great site, but ya can hardly ever find a car you are looking for!! Think it is about time that they added in a few more filters, diesel, petrol and litre engine and the likes!! Every1 advertising a car seems to have tdi in it somewhere!!!!

I find donedeal great. If i'm looking for something in particular once you type in make and model it seems to get over nearly all that search shite people put into their adds. As for selling i can't complain either, put a polo up the other day and within an hour i had four calls one email and was on my way home with the cash in my pocket after selling it.
