Don't think miracles are going to happen after speaking to you this morning!! Too many ideas too little time!!

right, thanks col, have to come clean again. ive become an ebay junkie! bought a set of j e pistons last night to bring cc to 1849 i believe(82.5mm). also have emailed some american places ref a set of pauter rods, just to finish the internals while im at it. have sold the seat 18t to someone on these pages (ill let him tell you when hes ready), and am rebuilding the agu golf engine ive had lying for a while. should have some very empty engine bay pics tonight.
couple of questions, theres an awful lot of "soot" on the starter insides, thick black stuff. is that natural or is that a sign my vr6 /helix clutch has been struggling?
can i bin all that auxilliary air injection pump stuff ( the big black plastic pump thing on the front of the block)?
oops! no it was like that when i took all apart. i didnt do it stripping the car, honest.
i found this lying after i had stripped the front engine and side engine mount out. couldnt see which one it was missing from. any ideas? the front mount seems very dodgy anyway. badger5 is looking 120 sterling for one. is any g60? diesel? mounts identical to the ibiza front one?

, hope we are as quick fitting it to the MKI
See!!!, that abuse early this morning did motivate you!!!!!
yes but what you dont realise, i was up half the night searching for the best price on a set of fecking rods! if youd been anyway decent youd have been helping me disect, sorry remove your engine !
.
@ anyone whats the best way to remove the factory wax without heat?
QUOTE (veedubboy @ Jan 18 2006, 10:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Cant wait to see this thing go Conrad...didnt think it was exactly slow in the first place LOL
pistons arrived today 82.5mm je desigs. ebay cheapies witha few thousand miles supposedly..... covered in pinking marks and signs of valve contact on them all ! if i polish them up does anyone work in a windy office and fancy an expensive paper weight?
took this tonight as it was the most parts ill have together before the build up starts. cranks is in getting balanced with the flywheel and clutch cover, etc. parts go to get threw together some day some, so took this
while i had the chance.
final spec then, and apologies that this has changed. 83mm custom je pistons taking cc to a proper 1900cc, pauter rods, balanced crank/vr lightened flywheel/ bann brenner vr6 stage 2 clutch. custom stainless manifold which is underway. final turbo spec, the gt35 is on ebay in favour of gt3076r which should be ordered in the next couple of days. ported large port head (having problems with both mine at the moment) running cat cams fast road kit through vernier pulley. standard hyd tappets, springs ,retainers. eventually intend to run 3 inch blue flame exhaust but at £700, its out of budget for the minute. sticking with the quiet jetex 2 1/2 inch system for now. intend running the tt twin cats but with 2 1/4 ports. two ibiza downpipes feeding into the cats, fabricated into a "y" piece higher up, s3 flange mating into custom section with flexipipe this time around. s2 quattro external wastegate running open dump for now (noise permitting). 630cc injectors. peloquin diff, but for running in period im stuck with an open diff due to delivery issues from peloquin. thats it i think.
edit
forgot, original fmic kit is twin pass to suit the tt inlet. going with large port manifold so need single pass cooler. trying to fit that very fat porsche cooler in . know i will have problems. have fast road engine mounts coming from badger5. walbro 225 l/hr pump.
