Spotted this on Carzone Clicky

When I had it

Sold with over 125k miles if I remember correctly, now it shows 54,912 on the odometer and 53k miles stated in the advert, also "two owners" I know of three in this country and at least 2 previous owners in the UK
Image

The low mileage clocks came from the cut and shut Corrado I had, were thrown in with the deal as the original clocks were playing up, MFA was not all showing up, so it looks like they have been put in and perhaps its been sold since as a genuine low mileage car

The complete idiot is the person selling the car, that thinks in this small Irish community that the dubious activity would not be spotted. Unless of course this is being sold on by someone who bought it and 'genuinely believes' the mileage when they bought it.

This could well be the case, as you've already said, a lower mileage, working odometer was thrown in when the car was sold, and it may have changed hands two, if not three times since then....or....the geezer selling it is obviously pulling a fast one, and that working odometer is being used as the original

Rang about this before i saw this post .
The guy said he owns the car 5 months but never registered it in his
name . The milage is very low and the car is mint .

When asked about not registering it in his name he said he only drives to work in it .

All very dodgy sounding .

that fellow should be reported for that sh**. you'd be right pissed off if you were the one who got caught.

Fuck and all mick........its a grey area. as i was told by the gard looking after it,theres not alot they can do until its sold, its not ilegal to clock a car and sell it once the new owner knows its been clocked.ie the millage has been changed for what ever but heres the real millage, and its hard to make it stick.in fairness they did actualy look into it.

That's why I'm leery of 'private' cars for sale --- unless I can make some connection on them - like this forum - screw 'em. Like Mulder used to say "trust no one".

to be fair there are plenty of garages at it too.

have people been giving this guy abuse, his ad now reads "MILAGE IS NOT G+T AS CAR IS 18 YRS OLD .NO VAG FORUM CUSTOMERS MAY APPLY THANKS".

what does g+t stand for

How do you all know that he was the one that clocked it?

I happen to know that the car in question was clocked when GearĂłid sold it as well. The original mileage was much higher than the 125k he sold it at.

But I also know that GearĂłid didn't know this as he bought the car with 125k on it. Does that make him a c.unt too then?

And I wouldn't have a great opinion of VAG forum members if the only contact I'd had from them was abuse and self righteous preaching when all I was trying to do was sell a car.

I'm not saying the guy is honest, I'm just saying maybe he is

Yep, I've since found out that the mileage on it when I bought and sold it was well out, so it had been clocked before I got it too.

I sold it in January, the current owner supposidly says they have it 5 months, if thats true then its changed hands since as I sold it as I already stated, so they could be oblivious to the fact that the mileage is out, same as I was when I sold it.

I think that some folks problems with the current sellar are that he wont own up and admit if the car
is clocked. He has been notified by somebody from here and hopefully they showed him Gearoids thread about
the car. Now that he is aware of the facts and weather he knew about the miles or not now he can revise
the add and include in it that there is some clouds hanging over what the genuine miles are, instead
he has just made things seem worse by telling VAGdrivers to feck off and ill catch some other poor fucker.

Thats very true George but we dont know what was said to him, hopefully he was contacted and simply
notified about Gearoids knowledge of the car and then he can revise his add.

He has been informed the car has been clocked yet he is doing SFA to inform prospective buyers of the fact. If he was honest he'd take out the clocks and put 100k onto them. At the minimum he should clearly state the mileage is not genuine, or delete the photo of the mileometer. (Why have a photo of it only to try and deceive a buyer?).

He has also advertised VAGDRIVERS on his ad, thus any buyer worth his salt will check out the site and see why he has barred them.

I have no doubt the seller of that car will not be 100% when selling it.
