fair play paudie i've been looking for insurance for my ma on her birthday present (gonna buy her a years insurance with the car). car's an '82 so no worries about classic status, and a 52yr old woman shouldn't be a problem. only this is she has a commercial van as a main vehicle, and her renewal is next may. I wanna insure her in October. anybody any idea does this mean she can't use her 10years no claims. cheapest non-classic insurance i can find is 850. but would only be a weekend car low mileage. classic would be perfect. will ring a few crowds Monday, just a oain in the ass for them to tell me go fly!

Forgot all about this!

Called into the axa office in cork start of last week and the lady i delt with told me the car had to be 25years old!!
So i started laughing and asked her why the head office gave me quotes and she just staired at me so i walked out.

Rang and insured the car with axa last week, just have to send the proposal form back in monday.

The fella i was dealing with is Pat Grimes and hes the most helpfull fella ive ever delt with!!

Rang another insurance company aswell{cant remember name} and was told car is not considered a classic because its mass produced!

All going well she'll be driving this week and will be ready for fermoy
