Hi All,

After finally finishing my atp turbo conversion on my vrs, I have decided to go travelling so my car and spares are for sale. My car is a 2001 Octavia vrs 1.8t with dtm bodykit, full leather interior, garrett gt2x turbo, atp 3" tip, guages built into dash, currently running 1bar at roughly 250bhp, can run 1.5 bar plus, race clutch, fsh, nct, taxed, tbelt, just serviced yesterday. Asking €13,000. I WOULD NOT SELL THIS CAR ONLY I NEED THE MONEY TO TRAVEL...IT REALLY IS AN AMAZING MACHINE, that leaves evos and scoobys in the rear view mirror.

Parts available for sale are.

TT SMICS
KO3S TURBO
STANDARD AIRBOX
ROAD ANGEL NAVIGATOR

Just to let you all know, this morning the car got its first major run. I was on the dualcarriage way comming into blanch when a new evo and a skyline came flyn by, Dropped it into thirs and waved as I passed both out. The look of shock on the r33 drivers face was priceless. The car willbe fully valeted before sale

So you managed to pass out both these cars 280 bhp+ 4WD cars in your 250 bhp 2WD Skoda AFTER they went "flyn by" AND managed to see the expression on the face of one of the drivers as you 'ahem' passed them out???????? Is there a funny smell in here???

Your a funny guy Basil,

One who obviously dosent realise that at 250bhp to the wheels and 300 plus of torque translates to far more power thata manufactures quoted 280bhp. An Imprezza or Evo is buuilt for acceleration and not top speed, I will not quote the speed we whre doing but put it this way, a friend of mine has a 05 m3 he will admit that in a drag race mine will beat him every time, if someone wants this proven, I challenge anyone here to find private property, a standard evo, sti, or skyline and i will shut your higly educated mouth Basil.

HA HA HA HA HA..........Now the Skoda is beating 340+ bhp, 0 to 60 in 4.5 secs, 155mph top speed BMW M3's. What's next on the list? A 911 GT3 perhaps? Or what the hell, maybe an Enzo!! Maybe Fernando Alonso might borrow it from you for China on Sunday week.......Hey, maybe when Richard Hammond gets better he might borrow it to try and beat that British land speed record once and for all! Go and eat one of your pork pie's and put your Skoda in the buy and sell under 'family cars' not 'supercars'!

Your starting to annoy me now. Guess were going to have to prove this one.

http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/imag...verse_dyno2.gif

I am waiting for Joe Power to reopen after the Ryder Cup, once hes available I will get a print out and preferably a video of my car.

Steve

What the f*ck does that and/or a "print out" and a (ha ha) "video" prove? All it says is that your Skoda has 250bhp and 300nm of torque. Big deal! I don't think you're living in the real world.
You haven't offered one single explanation of how in the hell a 250bhp Skoda is beating an M3? By making this wild statement, you're saying that your Skoda is doing a 0 to 60 time of less than 4.5 secs?????
Tell your imaginary "friend" in the M3 to start off in first gear and not fifth, that should solve his being beaten by a Skoda problems. But if you are telling the truth, fair play to you. I'd suggest you contact the science department at Trinity College to let them know about how you cheated the current laws of physics!
As for these STI's and EVO's your supposed to be "flyn by", ha don't make me laugh. Has it ever occured to you that you're probably one of these ejits who when they see a fast car, they start accelerating and driving like an idiot, just so you can overtake them. Here's a shot in the dark, maybe, just maybe they're not trying! It's kind of like sprinting past Asafa Powell (current men's 100m world record holder) on the street when he's out shopping with his kids and boasting about how you beat him!. It's not a Ferrari, it's a Skoda, stop lying.

Lads there is no need to kill a for sale thread
based on the rules of physics anything is possable
DaveC's mk1 with its 250+bhp shouldnt be able to beat big power cars but it can, its a lot to do with both who is driving what and how the car is being driven.
We can all start the "i have beaten this" thread but whats the point?
I beat a Nobel around the nurburgring in a rental 530d, but he wasnt pushing it, so it doesnt count!
So let it go!

Look lads,

I am willing to prove this to whoever cares, I laid down an open challenge, find private land get an evo etc and i will prove it.

You're full of sh*t! So in order to prove your bullsh*t, you want a group of strangers to find you a private track, then find an STI and race you to prove that you're full of it! Why don't you get your imaginary "friend" in his 2005 M3 that your so fond of drag racing???
Despite your brilliant eyesight (being able to see the expression on another drivers face as you pass him out, [you must have a f*cking rubber neck too]), you STILL haven't answered my question, despite it being asked many times??? So I'll put it in caps for you;

HOW CAN YOUR 250 BHP SKODA BEAT A 2005 BMW M3 (WHICH HAS A 0 TO 60 TIME OF 4.5 SECS) IN A DRAG RACE?

I await your lies.....I mean....answer!

By the way I regulary beat professional sprint cyclists on my high nellie and I wave at them as I fly by, you should see the expression on their faces...priceless! Anyone who doesn't believe me, can go and disprove it by getting Lance Armstrong and about 2000 miles of closed French roads. Then I'll prove it!

LOL,

Look lads Im not here to bullshit. Everyone who has driven the car can not believe the power it is putting out. I can also not tell you how a 250bhp car(to the wheels) is as quick as the cars mentioned but it is. Also I would not consider myself a 'boy racer', however if someone wants to show off in a scooby or skyline(standard) in a straight line, ie drag race. I dont mind proving that a skoda vrs with a garrett turbo can keep up or beat the best of them. Yes its no super car but hell its a dam fast hot 'family car' as basil calls it. Since Basil is publicly calling me a liar I want to prove that I am not.

So there is an open challenge, but please let Basil accept it.

I think I can bring some reality to this discussion.
Like Richard said, my Mk1 with 250+ brake can pull away from a 03 M3 on a second gear rolling start and by the time 5 gear comes I might have pulled about 4 car lengths on it....then it re-cathces me and blows me away. If one was to go flying past me and I dropped back to 3rd gear to go after him, I doubt he'd even know I was trying to catch him!!!
An E46 M3 will do a 1/4 mile in mid 13''s...the same time I managed at GTi International this year in a car with similiar power to your VRs but about 2/3 the weight.
So in conclusion, I'd be very surprised if your VRs can perform like you claim it can, but hey, maybe I'm wrong

You're such a f*cking bullshi*ter, it's unbelievable. "I can also not tell you how a 250bhp car(to the wheels) is as quick as the cars mentioned but it is"

First of all lair, you should go and find out what BHP actually is. 250 bhp to the wheels??? Have you invented some new parameters for measuring BHP?? BHP is a measurement from the engines output shaft, not from the wheels! I don't think you know what you're talking about!

Secondly, stop being an ass with your open challenge rubbish. The figures speak for themselves. A rubbish 250 bhp Skoda weighing 1360kg's CANNOT do a 0 to 60 time of less than 4.5 secs. I don't need to see it liar, it's just another one of your porky pies! A Clio V6 has the same BHP, weighs the same AND has an extra gear and it can only manage 6 secs!! Stop digging.

Thank God for Dave C. At last someone with some common sense!

I don't give a shit about this argument or don't want to take sides but bhp can be quoted as an 'at the flywheel' or an 'at the wheels' figure. Car manufacturers quote a flywheel figure but rolling roads record the power at the wheels and then attempt to measure the drivetrain losses to calculate the flywheel figure.

Blanc says his car has 250 at the wheels which does make it seem possible that it would be quicker in a straight line than a 280bhp at the flywheel evo/subaru which would have significant drivetrain losses due to the 4wd system.

As for the M3, well that is a different situation altogether, maybe his mate who owns the M3 drives like my mother or something....
