Driving home last night in a GtTDI Golf, when a warning light came on to tell me to check my oil level. So when I got home I topped it up as it was quite low. When I started the car this morning the same light came on so I checked it again and the oil level is perfect. Any suggestions?

Can this be simply turned off with vag-com or is it going to be a new sensor?

VAG-COM is a diagnostic tool. Can turn the light out, but when the fault is sensed again, the light will come on. Find what the fault is and repair/replace.

Problem solved and for once it didnt cost an arm and a leg. Friend who works at the local dealer told me to disconnect the battery and leave it for a few minutes, then reconnect. It actually worked and its the first time the car hasnt cost me a packet.
