Hi lads/ladies ,

i bought a 93 turbo diesel passat 1.6. im fitting the running gear into my mk 2 golf diesel . i was wondering is it a big job to change from linkage to
cable gear change ? any help would be greatly appreciated !!

corrado cable box in a mk 2 i have with a cable clutch set up, linkages swap over too

The mk2 uses a cable to operate the clutch, as standard, whereas the passat uses a hydraulic system. You can fit the passat pedal box and master cyl by drilling the bulkhead to allow the m/c to fit, or you can get a lever that replaces the slave cyl, from a seat, and retain the cable for the clutch.

Bolting in the shifter is straightforward however, but you've to drop the exhaust to do it, iirc.
