ive been thinking of this project for about a year and a half so i'm delighted to be able to get it materialised.
ive been on the hunt for a white mk4 golf estate tdi for a while now and i finally spotted one. unfortunately its
only an sdi but as its going to be my daily and have a 911 in the shed, i'm happy with two out of the three.

i sold my previous daily, a 2005 tdi passat and it seemed like faith that a car i've been looking for, for a while
and finally ive a few quid to buy it comes up for sale. a few phone calls later and the deal id done. collecting her
tomorrow up the north.

heres the plan, get it down tomorrow and go about sorting the vrt. has anyone vrt'd a car with the new system?
how does it work? can i simply pay vrt, take the car off the road and start the work and test it once work is finished? or must i pay vrt then get it nct'd and work after? i'm afraid i could be waiting too long for a test??? any ideas?

plans for the car-

been to the local scrap yard today and picked up a mint front end off a silver bora. 2x wings, bonnet slam
panal and biumper carrier. all for a neat 200 notes. the head lights were turning yellow so i left them behind.
so thats the bora front end sorted.

i have ordered a bora/jetta estate r-line kit from germany. i got the front with vw grill intact as appose to the deleted
version. r-line side skirts and 'clean' r-line estate bumper. it has the deleted exhaust pipes as apposed to the one with the exhaust pipes on either side.

i also have porsche 911 wing mirrors and the gt3 rep seat that i haven't sold that will be chucked in for good measure.
i also have a room full of audio bits so i'll put a decent focal, jl audio set up in it.

i have NO idea what to do about rims. want something cheap and effective. this is my daily sonot gonna spent more money on the rims that i did on the car! any suggestions. i was thinking staggered bbs lm but they are on everything at the moment. did anyone see the new bbs lm-r rims? they might do the trick. also, spotted polished bbs ch reps that might do the trick- but i'd prefer dished rims.

any ideas for neat little touches? should i paint the rims and colour code the wing mirrors and vw badges??
ideas and thoughts welcome

Get lambo wheels!! maybe in silver... replicas:)

Leave the VW badges on and off with the rest.... Xenon bora lights
Colour code the side strips and handles...

thats kinda the way id finish it off.... either way its a cool car to work with and theres not many around!!
best of luck with it!

i came across these rims. havent heard of them before-
they are BBS LM-R rep rims. i think i like them. they are not as busy
as the lm's with less spokes and bigger spacing and the dish is 3"

the car is going to be white, should i keept he rims silver or will
i mix it up and paint them and colour code mirrors ect??? colour suggestions?

any wheel suggestions? 18" only. want an aggressive looking dished wheel-

anyone know where i'd get mk4 golf 5door rear leather seat?

yeah, i hate the word bolf, now jetta, theres a nice word!

on the way to collect the car now, r-line kit ordered. price a few rims today up north
and hopefully if i get back on time, get to the vrt center and pay vrt.

found blueline joms in uk for ÂŁ180 inc delivery.

this should be a quick and easy project! as soon as vrt is paid its going up to my
mate john peden (peden conceptz- owner of silver 911 on hydraulics at edition??)

looking at the comments on the sdi engine thread, i actually dont mind that its under powered,
its going to be my daily. all i want it for it going to the shops and work and enough room
to fit a few boxes in just in case!

this is gonna be deadly. the lm/r reps are lovely. but jap wheels would look awesome on it. i love painted centres on white cars looks awesome. if it was me i'd be goin for pink centres. lol. however don't match the wing mirrors and badges. i hate when people do that. its like they just start painting everything that is easily taken off the car. satin black badges and leave wing mirrors white. only colour should be on the wheels.

im not too sure what it is. but it turned any lead light i seen in the yard a shade of yellow. can this be removed?
how did you clean your own? would that colour defect fail nct? if i got them cheap i could laminex them, but would that pass nct?? i may look into it.

as for the alphards painted signal orange, like the idea of signal orange rims but not them alphards.....
was thinking of painting behind the vw badge orange under matte black badges???

i have the car home in kilkenny now. 2hrs 20min from lurgan to my door. the new road is great!!
the cars is unbeliveably slow!! i dont mind though, its forwork and tipping about. there didnt feel like there was
much left in her after 85mph but it can do motorway speed sp thats good enough for what i want it for.
pretty good on fuel, i clocked up 234 miles from half a tank at mostly 75mph on the motorway.

the car is provisionally booked to get done the week after next provided the kit comes before then.
its coming with dhl from germany and they reckon 4-6 working days. fingers crossed.

what peden is donig to the car-
bora front end
fit r-line kit
paint front end, blow in doors
US style rear number plate recess + paint boot
porsche 911 wing mirrors
roll arches
and get it sitting tough.

i was doing a bit of pricing today on rims-
them rota's are expensive. 18 x 8.5 on front and 18 x 10 finished in bronze with budget tyres + delivery 1600euro
them BBS LM-R rep's in 18x8 f 18x9 rear r are about 700 with budget tyres.

have to price one or two more places tomorrow and see, but i think i will end up with the LM-R's as they look a bit classier.

a set of Land Rover Mondials would look awesome on it if you're lowering it enough.

ROTA GRID's

Aggressive as fuck

Or there's loads of car line wheels that would look slick
such as these
