Hey guys,

Just wanted some advise on getting to the Blackrock for 8:30 in the morning.

I'll be leaving from Maynooth.

What is the best way to go, and how long would it take ?
I need to be on-time if not early...

Tks...

Seems like my only option...What would be a "safe" time to leave at...

It's been a long time since I've gone into the city so early...

Aim to be there at 8, then you should be fairly ahead of the traffic, plus will get a space

go the m50 and either get off at the stillorgan exit or the sandyford exit depending on what part of blackrock.

I would consider going the Celbridge - Tallaght route and drop down to the M50 there...it's a joke at Lucan.
Even if you went over to the N7..I go to Newlands cross every morning (from Portarlington) and Newlands is moving pretty well at the moment. Keep in the far left lane untill as close to the Mad Cow roundabout as possible if you do choose to go that way.

Its the only way to really go to that side of the city from the Celbridge/Maynooth area if you "Have" to go by car. The train from Maynooth/Liexlip into Connolly or from Celbridge/Hazelhatch into Heuston and then a Bus from town out to Blackrock, but I don't know what the busses would be like

QUOTE (rmn @ Jan 23 2006, 01:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>well the DART goes straight to blackrock so you could go to heuston by train, get the LUAS to connolly and then the DART to Blackrock, fairly handy to be honest

Does the train from Maynooth not go to Connolly. Im sure it does. Then transfer to the Dart to Blackrock. Bring the Ipod / newspaper / book and sit down and chill out. Beats sitting in traffic getting stressed out.

Yep it goes to Connolly, you might well be standing up the whole way though, those trains are packed in the mornings, but it is deffo your best bet

Cheers lads,
Honestly I have to go by car...So I'll just leave super early, pain in the nuts but better to leave early and skip the worst of the traffic.

The celbridge-tallaght route looks good...

Come off the M50 at Sandyford and go down to the Leopardstown roundabout. Take the second exit and you'll end up at the stillorgan duelcaraigeway, take a left onto the duelcarraigeway and then take the next right. go down this road to the lights and turn left. Keep going through the next lights and you're smack bang in the middle of Blackrock!

You should be ok leaving about 7!

Hope this helps!

Thanks again lads,

I ended up leaving at 20 past 6 this morning. Traffic was just starting to get heavy.

I do feel sorry for people that have to get into the city center every day...
