Stupidly, i admit, i pulled back the handbrake mechansim on the back of a mk4 brake caliper which ran the cylinder barrel out to the end, now i cant get the bloody thing back in,
anyone know how to get it back in?
ive tried twisting it but it only goes about 5 turns, then will just turn and turn and turn forever without going in.
any help well appreciate.!

Have you got the tool for winding back the caliper piston (barrel) ?. If not try pushing (fairly hard) in the piston as you wind it back. If that does not work you will need the tool. If your located near Westmeath, you can remove the caliper and bring it to us tomorrow and I can wind it back in seconds. If your to far from me, maybe a local mechanic can do it for you.

I don't know what to say.
You should send the pictures to VW, they might use the idea if stuck on the dakar rally or something, or may even send you money for the idea. This could lead to something good, or even worse.

Rock on
