Nice GTI for sale on this link - price seems incredibly cheap for such an original example. Personally I don't like GTi's in silver paint (and I prefer the big bumper versions) but for anyone that might be interested it seems great value.

This auction ended today on Ebay - a juicey Merc that has a gas conversion. The reserve was £2,400 and obviously did not make it but if it was better timing I would have bought it - just thought id post it - seems a shame such a fine car does not get more appreciation.
know a guy who bought one of these last year in england. '88 or '89 in gold. the only job he needed to do to it was rechrome some parts of the front and rear bumpers. and it had well over 200k on it.
i firmly believe this is the best era of german motoring, ever. i don't reckon the newer german stuff is as good or that it'll last as long.
i think it's more than just merc parts that are found in Asia, seems to me that everything they put into my passat came from the second hand parts bin. never again would i go near a newer vw. hate to say it, but i've had such trouble with it it's put me off for life.
my mom bought a new civic last week (1.8 vtec
). this is her fourth one and not one single problem EVER and the build quality is getting better with each model. many other makers are looking for ways to save money, and no doubt honda are too, but this car feels like a much bigger car and the fit and finish are as good as the germans were. i think the germans should buy a civic or an accord and learn from them.
