I dont particularly like either.

Auto Glym is too expensive (20bucks for a (small) bottle of car polish

, come on!)
And Meguires which I really liked before gave the GTi a faded shine after 4-5 polishes! Kinda blame it for taking that just resprayed look away from the Mk2 too fast.

Im no expert though so... make of it what you will.

AutoGlym & Meguiar's are old-school type products. Both companies have sat on their laurels a bit and now have been surpassed by other (American & German) manufacturers. Finish Kare, Zaino, Chemical Guys, Menzerna, Car-Lack, Einszett to name but a few.

But until the Irish public & motor trade are discriminating enough to know better ... only low quality (cheap) consumer products will remain on sale in the shops.

You should try Finish Kare ... They move the benchmark much further.

The meguiars 3-step thingy worked great for me. I used a klay bar, (sp?) first and was amazed at how well it worked.

Must admit the autoglym bumper care stuff is excellent too.

Isn't the swissol stuff the one where you massage it into the paintowrk with your bare hands, or is that the other mad expensive Zymol thing ?
I think I saw some special Zymol stuff for sale at ÂŁ400 sterling for a tub ! Madness.

You can buy the Auto-glym directly form the Wholesalers - works out a hell of alot cheaper

35e for 5litres as opposed to 10-13e for 500ml!

Meguiars is great & expensive, you get what you pay for!

@DLB where can one get these products that you mentioned?

Geo, Even though you are the moderator, I will send you a private message ... So I cannot be accused of spamming or such like ... You can then post the details yourself, if you deem them appropriate.

You're in the position to that GS, you could make a few quid for yourself & supply the stuff to some of the forum members at that trade price!
