Interesting to see that the 2.2 turbo quattro put out 200bhp back in 1980....
in comparison to the 200bhp that VW are putting out of a 2.0 turbo now,
not a huge change in 25yrs!
Just shows how far ahead Audi were with the engine & 4wd technology back then
Especially when you consider that it's 154bhp per tonne......
My Coupe quattro has the lower performing KV engine with 136bhp as standard. It's still good for 8.5s to 60, which is not bad for a 1985 car. All the work done plus modern petrol should improve on that........
I got the cam and belt in last night.
They always were a rare car, they only made about 9,500 on a worldwide basis (quattro turbo 11,500). I guess that there are probably less than 2000 left now. Only a handfull in Ireland. There's a nice one in Dublin, plus another 3 in cork. There are a few quattro turbo's about too.
