.. according to the my local Skoda dealer

. The RS is being built this week and he said then 2 weeks to get to the dealer. Is this accurate? Anyone else get theirs 2 weeks after being built?

Not sure about that but from start to finish for me it took 10 weeks iirc.

The countdown is on!

They told me originally 12 weeks from the start which is normal. They told me what they can do is a car that is already going to be built can get assigned to me and the plans changed to suit the extra's i want which brought it down to 7 weeks.

If its been built this week then it'll be about 3-4 weeks away. Dont forget it needs to be put on a train to France and then on a ferry then to nvd and eventually onto the dealer...

Any update Micky on the new motor?

How long will it be staying standard? lol

#18 ·
Last time i was talking to the dealer was last Tuesday week and he told me it was being built that week and he should have it within 2 weeks. So if that is correct should have it within a week.

It won't be standard for long. With a few bits and pieces i'll be aiming for a nice 280bhp ish.

Does anyone else think i'm mad buying a 2.0 TFSI when it might be doing approx 600 miles a week?

I changed from diesel to petrol few cars ago and regretted every month I owned it, held on to it for 12 months till the warrenty expired and went straight back to diesel. I was averageing 300 miles to a tank where the diesel would only do 500 to the tank(same 55 litre or so tanks). Made a huge difference to my pocket at the end of every month especially if I put the foot down.
Will you be paying for the fuel??

#22 ·
Yes , worked it out compared to my old tuned up PD 130. If i average 600 ish miles a week my fuel cost will rise approx 25 euro a week. The cost of 2 good bottles of wine a week and to be honest i need to cut back on the wine

Got an update from the dealer. The car is built and ready to be shipped. I was told it should be on the next boat on Thursday( "but not guaranteed but no reason why not"). If all goes to plan should have it next week.
