I say hats off to you smokers.

it's your further financial sacrifice through exorbatent taxes that keeps fuel prices here 40c per litre cheaper than most of Europe, not to mention your more than significant contributions to the health service.

Keep it up lads !!!

I smoked for 6 years, Gave them up at Vanfest last september out of pure stubbornness.... haven't smoked since. The trick was not actually telling anyone that I quit until most of the cravings were gone..... Still feel like one sometimes but after being off them so long the smell makes me sick!!

Friend of mine went to the arsehole of nowhere about 10 o clock at night by herself to get hypnosis to stop smoking, paid a fortune, drove home afterwards and lit up as soon as she got in the door without even noticing... Then again some people just cant be hypnotised

Hi Lads new to the site and seen this post and had to comment. I tried to give up myself in the new year it only worked for a day and I was back on them. I have booked in for hypnotherapy on Wednesday next, has anyone done it ? they say that 95% of people that come to them successfully give up. I suppose time will tell, I have been smoking 20 years now

welcome along AR

I smoked for 20 years myself (from age 13 to 33!), I found that committing the smoking money to something big that I had to pay for worked for me.

Smoked from age of 13 to 33, and i gave up with no help with gum/patches or anything for that matter, just good old fasioned will power and the thought of my young children growing up without me, its now 4 years and counting, i didnt even have a sniff of one in that time, i had alot of stress in my first 6 months of giving up, and still kept off them

You can do it, if you really want too, unless you have no incentive or will to give up.

Will give them up this year, and as said previous, will not tell anyone. Prize is the largest Snap-on tool box availabile.

Mind you the one I'm smoking now is wonderful, jaysus it's going to be hard, Already tried about 6 times in the last 10 years, done 3 weeks once.

My girlfriend and her Aunty both read the book a few years ago, and have never smoked since
