QUOTE (PaudieG60 @ Oct 4 2010, 06:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Are those power washers any good??

I've no idea Paudie but have heard that they have a no quibble 3 year warranty so it's good cover and on paper the spec seems fine.

I had an Aldi Power washer for 2 years. It worked perfectly until I left it out in the bad frost last winter which was hardly the washers fault.
Compare it to Karcher prices and you'll find them excellent value. The one had I had from aldi was manufactured by Karcher. Don't know it that's still the same.

Ill be picking up a Torque wrench and might have a look at those washers,i presume a snow foam lance will attach no bothers.

It's a waste of money if you ask me. it just spits shampoo at your car, it doesn't really foam up in the real sense of the word. The PA lances we sell mix air with the shampoo solution & the water coming from the washer, which is how the foam is produced. You can adjust the amount of air/solution used to get your desired thickness of foam. With the karcher attachment, it spits out shampoo / water and doesnt really foam at all... not enough for it to do what it's supposed to. It's a false economy too, because you'll end up using 300-400 ml of shampoo at a time to get any suds from it, which is approx 10 times more than with the PA lances.

We'll be running specials on the lances next week, if you want to wait.

I picked up one of the aldi powercraft washers today for the craic. 3 year warranty and 2000W. Can't go too far wrong at that money. It comes with it's own mini snowfoam bottle. I've also still got the one from Andy so I'll compare the 2 tomorrow and throw up a few pics.

Just have to rob some garden hose now from my mam to hook it up with some water.

Andy, how about hose extensions, I could do with another 5 metres or so.

Set it to the torque you want and then use like a normal wrench it will click when set torque is reached,i'd always let it click 2 or 3 times though before i stop applying pressure.

i bought 1 of the power washers this evening, last 1 in the shop in arklow, cant go wrong with a 3 year warranty, the pump will get plenty of abuse, 3 cars, 16 ft wide double concrete driveway, and 20x20 decking, i will get my moneys worth out of it
Image
,im going to duck tape the warranty to the front of it with the receipt in a plastic bag just to be sure,

You should really stop when it clicks first, as its at the set torque at that point.

One thing to remember with a torque wrench is to not leave it set at a torque setting, when you are finished with it you should lower it to its minimum setting.
