Hi Folks

My friends Audi A4 Dolphin Grey REG 05D88450 was stolen on Tuesday the 19th from Tyrrelstown. If you see it can you contact the Garda in Blanchardstown on 01-...6667000

He dropped the keys as he was loading his young lads gear into the car , he'd gone back into the house to get the little lad when it happened,
came out and car was driving down the road

Cheers

Ger

Hey ger is it a saloon or estate?
And is it the new shape for 05 onwards or the previous shape?

Reason I ask is because I spotted a dolphin grey avant with rs4 wheels in the car park at the rear of donnellys DIY store in ratoath today.
What caught my eye was that the Irish regs where screwed on over the English plates .

Hi

Bit of good news, car has been found and returned to the owner, chap seen the picture and request on facebook and noticed it parked outside his house and rang the guards

it was found in Mulhuddart woods in Blanchardstown 10 mins from where it was stolen, car was locked so must have been left there for a later date..

Cheers

If the scumbag who stole it locked it then it means he still has the key. The insurance will not pay out if the car is now taken using the key so tell your friend to get the lock changed.

I got it done in the UK as its much cheaper but thats probably not a option so a trip up to Agnews is still cheaper than the stealers down here.

The locks can be done diy but you need a dealer to code them and the ecu to the new transponders. I paid 700 sterling to get it done which was about half what Irish dealers wanted off me

Heckor was on about this on 2fm this morning on the Little Town Big Story section. your man that does the section said that while owner was putting his son into the car he dropped his keys, went into the house, the thief picked them up & jumped into the car & the owner seeing this was only just able to get his son out in time before the car drove away. I'd say its more the way Ger told it.

Also he said the car was only identified because the young lads DVD (some kids show cant remember), which the father had turned on in anticipation of putting his son into the car, was still playing in the back 3 days later where the thief had parked the car??

Great news about getting it back though, hope he kept the job too

Just after hearing about a brand new BMW that was lifted last night in D15...not sure of the details but the owner still has both sets of keys....how can you stop your car being lifted on to a low loader?

I'll be taking delivery of a brand new car very shortly and am getting nervous.

I dont have much advice however my mate (A guard) suggested locking your wheels in one direction when parking. It makes it more difficult to drag in onto a truck.
