Hi all,
Will the standard MK2 Golf power steering pump fit a 92 Rado G60. tried a mk3, perfect fitting except the head that the pulley sits on does not sit out far enough on the shaft of the pump to clear the belt for the charger, alternator etc.

Cheers.

Rob.

Think it was a standard 1.4 Seems like the V-Belt is much wider and the pulley that that sits on so the power steering pulley is not out form the block far enough to give clearance.

You need to use the green type fluid, the red atf fluid is not recommended for vws.

You can get it in the dealer (nearly 30 quid a litre) or in GSF (around a tenner)

The system holds just under 1 litre.

Look in the Golf Haynes Manual for the method for getting the fluid into the rack without burting the seals
Too much pressure build up in there is a bad thing
