Hi,
Looking for some help trying to fix a parking brake fault on passat
I'm hoping someone on here can help, i'm in Bettystown Meath area so if i could find someone North East Leinster would be great.
I've had it in VW garage 4 times looking at it and fed up with them to be honest.
1st time when the problem happen about 15 months ago i left it in and they replaced the parking brake switch, cleared it for about a week but came back
2nd time was the week or so later and left it for the day with them and couldn't find it. - Service was due soon so didn't bother going back
3rd time in was 1 year ago at service and they check the wiring and sensors, said wiring looks ok but could be right rear wheel sensor
4th time was yesterday and was told opposite of the above, sensor are fine it looks like wiring and talking about tracing from ECU (i presume) out to sensor to find the fault. I asked was it specific wire or loom? Cause if specific wire surely a new wire could be run neatly along the loom and replace the faulty one, saving the expense of pulling the loom apart all the way down.
Anyway hoping someone can help here / advice would be great.
