Hi all,

Just bought a 06 GTI and am wondering which alarm I should get fitted or it the factory immobiliser good enough ?

Any info would be helpful, I know the old chain and physical deterant would do but probably need something noisey too.

Get an alarm fitted. Mk5 GTI's are hot property, and there's been a lot of reports of cars being stolen. I think MarkN went for the Clifford option with bells & whistles, I've got the VW optional alarm on mine.

I went to Safe Sounds and they fitted a Golf Specific alarm.. It links into the remote locking system and you'd never notice it, other than a flashing LED (had them cancel all beeps). To be honest I heard the car cannot be started without the key, so had them fit a standard alarm.

God help them breaking into my place looking for keys! Because the Cops won't...
